## Description

- PL: Architektura, w której jedna sieć (hipersieć) generuje wagi drugiej (sieci docelowej) na podstawie osadzenia warstwy, zadania lub kontekstu; trenowana end-to-end.
- EN: An architecture where one network (the hypernetwork) generates the weights of another (the target network) from a layer, task or context embedding; trained end to end.

## In one sentence

- EN: A network whose job is not to answer a question but to produce the settings for another network.

## Problem it solves

- EN: Training a separate model for every task, user or style is expensive and takes a lot of storage.

## What it does

- PL: Jak dorabianie kluczy: zamiast nosić tysiąc kluczy, masz maszynę, która na podstawie opisu zamka wycina właściwy.
- EN: Like a key-cutting machine: instead of carrying a thousand keys, you have a device that cuts the right one from a description of the lock.

## Everyday example

- PL: Aplikacja do zdjęć dopasowuje filtr do stylu opisanego słowami, nie przechowując osobnego modelu dla każdego stylu.
- EN: A photo app adapts its filter to a style described in words without storing a separate model for each style.

## This concerns you if you…

- PL: chcesz dopasowywać jeden model do wielu zadań
- EN: want to adapt one model to many tasks
- EN: are curious how one network can steer another

## How it works

To luźna forma współdzielenia wag; dziś służy m.in. do generowania adapterów, uczenia wielozadaniowego i meta-uczenia.
- EN: The hypernetwork takes a vector describing a layer, task or current input and outputs weights, or weight modifications, for the target network. Gradients flow through the target into the hypernetwork. It is a relaxed form of weight sharing, now used for generating adapters, multi-task learning and meta-learning.

## Limits

- EN: Generating all weights of a large network is costly, so in practice only small parts such as adapters or scales are generated. Training can be unstable and needs careful initialisation; quality on out-of-distribution tasks is limited.

- PL: **osadzenie zadania**: Wektor opisujący zadanie, z którego hipersieć tworzy wagi.
- PL: **współdzielenie wag**: Używanie tych samych parametrów w wielu miejscach sieci.
- EN: **target network**: The network doing the task with generated weights.
- EN: **task embedding**: A vector describing a task, from which the hypernetwork creates weights.
- EN: **weight sharing**: Reusing the same parameters in several places of a network.
